நல்லிணக்கம், குற்றச் செயல்களுக்கு தண்டனை விதித்தல் குறித்து அமெரிக்கா மீண்டும் இலங்கைக்கு அறிவுரை

நல்லிணக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தல், குற்றச் செயல்களுக்கு தண்டனை விதித்தல், நல்லாட்சியை ஏற்படுத்தல் ஆகியன தொடர்பில் அமெரிக்கா மீண்டும் இலங்கைக்கு அறிவுரை விடுத்துள்ளது.

நல்லிணக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தல் குற்றச் செயல்களுக்கு தண்டனை விதித்த் ஆகியன தொடர்பில் நிலுவையில் உள்ள பிரச்சினைகளுக்கு காண வேண்டுமென அமெரிக்கா தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

அமெரிக்காவின் 238ம் ஆண்டு சுதந்திர தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு இலங்கைக்கான அமெரிக்கத் தூதுவர் மிச்சல் டி சிசன் வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில் இந்த விடயம் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இலங்கை சுதந்திரம் அடைந்ததன் பின்னர் யு.எஸ்.எயிட் நிறுவனம் இரண்டு பில்லியன் அமெரிக்க டொலர்களை உதவியாக வழங்கியுள்ளதாகத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

தொழில் பயிற்சி உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு வழிகளில் இலங்கை மக்களுக்கு யுஎஸ்எயிட் நிறுவனம் உதவிகளை வழங்கி வருவதாகக் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

நிலக்கண்ணி வெடி அகழ்வு உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு மனிதாபிமான தேவைகளுக்கும் இலங்கை உதவிகளை வழங்கியுள்ளதாகத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

She noted that the US engagement with Sri Lanka, whether focused on civic awareness, education, economic growth, or cultural preservation, continues to be robust and multi-faceted. ‘Working together, we are building the future of the U.S. – Sri Lanka partnership,’ she added. Sison noted that the United States and Sri Lanka have long enjoyed a strong partnership that has benefited both nations and the US enjoys values the relationship deeply.

‘We endeavor at the U.S. Embassy to play a helpful role in enhancing civic dialogue, educational opportunities, and economic empowerment. We support a number of Sri Lankan civil society efforts in this regard,’she added.She noted that since Sri Lanka’s independence, the United States has worked through USAID to provide over 2 billion dollars in assistance to the Sri Lankan people. Today, USAID livelihoods projects and partnerships with the private sector have secured economic opportunities by creating thousands of jobs. These efforts are especially focused on vulnerable populations, in particular those households headed by women.

USAID also supports the Bar Association of Sri Lanka and Legal Aid Commission to help ensure that all Sri Lankans have greater access to justice. In addition, the U.S. continues to provide support for the Sri Lankan people through humanitarian demining in the former conflict zones and through community reconciliation efforts.
